Maruti Suzuki’s new 7-seater electric MPV to hit the market; Powerful range, premium features and SUV-like looks!
After its first electric SUV e Vitara, India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is now working on its second electric vehicle. The company’s upcoming 7-seater electric MPV is being developed under the codename ‘YMC’ and is expected to hit the market by mid-2027. This car will directly compete with the Kia Carens Clavis Electric.
Designed with the needs of large families in mind, this electric MPV will be a fusion of spacious cabin, comfortable ride and modern technology. The vehicle was recently spotted testing on public roads and many design details have been revealed.

The new YMC will get a more SUV-like look than the conventional MPV. Its high front profile, straight beltline and attractive wheel arches give it a more powerful look. The design also gets a glimpse of the e Vitara. It is likely to get aerodynamically designed 18-inch alloy wheels, attractive headlamps and Ertiga-XL6 inspired L-shaped taillamps.
The interior gets advanced safety systems like 10-way power driver seat, ventilated front seats, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger and level-2 ADAS.

In terms of powertrain, two variants of this electric MPV are likely to be available. The base model gets a motor that produces 142 hp of power and 193 Nm of torque along with a 49 kWh LFP battery, which will give a range of around 400 km. While the top variant can be powered by a 61 kWh LFP battery with 172 hp power, which can cover a distance of around 500 km on a single charge. So this car can be an attractive electric option for Indian families.
