Washington: Marvel Studios has revealed its ambitious plans for the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Avengers: Secret Wars. The studio's 2028 lineup will introduce some of its biggest franchises, including Ghost Rider, X-Men and Black Panther 3.
The announcement has created excitement among fans as Marvel prepares to enter a new era with fresh characters, new storylines and expanded superhero worlds.
Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider Arrives in July 2028
The biggest surprise in Marvel's upcoming slate is Ryan Gosling's Ghost Rider, which is scheduled to release on July 28, 2028.
Gosling's casting as the Spirit of Vengeance has been one of the most talked-about MCU developments. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Gosling himself pitched his vision for the character.
The film will be directed by Shawn Levy, known for Deadpool & Wolverine, while Jonathan Tropper will write the screenplay. The movie will mark Ghost Rider's return to the big screen after Nicolas Cage's portrayal in earlier films.

New X-Men Movie To Bring Mutants Into MCU
Before Ghost Rider hits theaters, Marvel will introduce its new X-Men movie on May 5, 2028, marking the first major mutant-focused project fully integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Disney's acquisition of 21st Century Fox. The film will feature a fresh lineup of mutants, including Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Inde Navarrette as Rogue. Meanwhile, Adam Driver is reportedly set to portray the iconic villain Mr Sinister, adding another major threat to Marvel's expanding superhero universe.

Black Panther 3 To Close Marvel's 2028 Lineup
Marvel's 2028 theatrical schedule will conclude with Black Panther 3, releasing on December 15, 2028.
Director Ryan Coogler will return for the third installment. The film is expected to explore the next generation of Wakanda, with David Jonsson reportedly playing an older version of T'Challa II, the son of T'Challa and Nakia.
Letitia Wright and Winston Duke are also expected to return, although Marvel has kept major plot details secret.
