Kanpur. Kalyanpur Police has arrested an accused who was wanted for a reward of Rs 10,000 in a land fraud case by preparing fake documents. According to the police, the accused was associated with a gang that prepared fake voter IDs and Aadhaar cards by impersonating fake persons in place of real land owners and getting fake deeds and agreements executed.
According to the police, on November 9, 2025, plaintiff Chunnu Lal Gupta, resident of Vikram Nagar, Panki Road, Kalyanpur, had lodged a complaint at Kalyanpur police station. The allegation was that accused Vikas Singh Sengar and his wife Preeti Singh along with their gang members committed a fraud of about Rs 40 lakh. The accused prepared fake identity cards by appointing fake persons of their gang in place of the real land owners and got fake deeds and agreements done in the registrar's office.
In this matter, a case was registered in Kalyanpur police station under various sections of the Indian Justice Code under case crime number 492/2025. During the investigation, the police started searching for the accused. As part of the campaign being run against the criminals on the instructions of the Police Commissioner, Kalyanpur police station under the leadership of DCP West, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police West and Assistant Police Commissioner Kalyanpur arrested the wanted accused Mahdev Kuril with the help of human intelligence and surveillance.
According to the police, a reward of Rs 10,000 was declared on Mahadev Kuril. He was arrested on 20 September 2026 at around 2:10 pm from Lakshmi Hospital near New Shivli Road. After the arrest, legal action was taken against the accused and the process of presenting him before the court was carried out.
Arrested accused: Mahdev Kuril s/o Late Ramdin, resident of 373 Narayanpuri Naubasta, Thana Hanumant Vihar, Kanpur Nagar, permanent address village Mahamadpur Hathehi, Thana Ghatampur, Kanpur Nagar. With this action of the police, it is expected to tighten the noose on the gang involved in buying and selling land through fake documents. In this case, the police are also investigating other accused associated with the gang and the entire process of preparing fake documents.
