'Modi ji, you will only spoil the fun…', why did Mahua Moitra troll the PM?

Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He took a dig at PM Modi's statement on recent GDP growth figures and his appeal to people not to buy gold and reduce foreign trips. Mahua said in her statement that Modi ji, you will only spoil the fun. Apart from this, he sarcastically said that the Prime Minister should speak less about GDP growth, because it seems that he does not have complete understanding of this subject.

India has registered 7.8 percent GDP growth in the first quarter of the current financial year. The government is presenting this figure as the strength of the economy. At the same time, Mahua Moitra, citing the figures of the first quarter of last year, said that at that time 7.9 percent growth was reported, which was later revised to 7 percent. He also claimed to have made changes in other growth rate figures.

Mahua Moitra's statement

Mahua Moitra taunted Modi and said, 'Modi ji, will you enjoy alone? You will go to Sweden, then the next day to Uzbekistan, then to Kyrgyzstan, then to London and then to Norway and what should we do sitting in Ahmedabad? Don't do this Modi ji, we are also fond of travelling. You wear nice clothes, we too are fond of wearing nice clothes. You go abroad, eat melody, we also have this hobby. Modi ji, don't do this to us. He further said that we will be blessed only if the echo of your concession reaches your ears.

What appeal did PM Modi make?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the people to adopt the mantra of Swadeshi and Vocal for Local to advance the goal of self-reliant India. The PM has asked people to avoid holidays abroad and spending money on destination weddings. He appealed to the people to give priority to buying Made in India products. Also advised to avoid buying gold if not needed.

PM's Instagram reels also targeted

Mahua Moitra also took a dig at Prime Minister Modi's efforts to connect with the youth through social media. He said that the Prime Minister is taking the advice of making an Instagram reel to connect with Jaan ji very seriously. Questioning the government's claims regarding GDP figures, Mahua said that the growth rate figures released earlier were later revised. Referring to the figure of 2.6 percent, he also raised questions about the change in the figures.
