Monsoon Forecast – IMD Issues Very Heavy Rain Alert for 15 States June 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14

Monsoon Forecast: The weather in Delhi-NCR has shifted again starting today, June 8. Residents are grappling with humid, sultry heat. In its latest bulletin, the Meteorological Department announced that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced today (June 8, 2026) into the west-central and east-central Arabian Sea, parts of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. Concurrently, the department has issued rainfall alerts for several states across the country.

According to the IMD, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over the next seven days in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Northeast India. Additionally, alerts for intense rainfall at isolated locations in Karnataka and Kerala have been issued for June 8 and 9. Due to a Western Disturbance, light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms are likely in these regions on June 11 and 12.

Delhi Weather

According to the Meteorological Department, a change in weather is expected in Delhi-NCR starting today (Monday). Residents will once again face scorching heat. Temperatures could reach 45°C in the coming days, and heatwave-like conditions may persist through next week. Tomorrow (June 9), Delhi is likely to record a maximum temperature of 42°C and a minimum of 32°C.

Weather Forecast for the Next 24 Hours

The Meteorological Department predicts heavy rainfall on June 9 across several states, including Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh. Alerts have also been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by rain in Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

According to the IMD, rainfall alerts have been issued for Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh for June 10. Additionally, warnings regarding thunderstorms and storms have been issued for Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Weather in Uttar Pradesh

A warning for heavy rain and storms has been issued for UP from June 9 to 14. According to the Meteorological Department, alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Ghaziabad, Agra, Mathura, Kanpur, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj.

Weather in Bihar

An alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Bihar for June 9–10. Alerts regarding heavy rainfall have been issued for several districts in the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for Gaya, Patna, Gopalganj, Buxar, Bhojpur, Siwan, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, and Bhagalpur.

An alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Uttarakhand for tomorrow, June 9. Warnings for heavy rainfall have been issued for several districts, including Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, and Rishikesh.

An alert for rain and thunderstorms has been issued for Himachal Pradesh for June 9. Warnings for heavy rain and storms have been issued for several districts, including Mandi, Chamba, Kinnaur, and Kullu.

Warnings for heavy rain and storms have been issued for Jammu & Kashmir for the period of June 9–14.

Weather in Northwest India

The Meteorological Department has predicted the possibility of scattered rainfall in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, and Uttarakhand between June 9 and 14. An alert has been issued for Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab in anticipation of light rain between June 11 and 14. Rain is also expected in Western Uttar Pradesh between June 10 and 14. Additionally, an alert has been issued for light rain. rain in some parts of eastern Rajasthan.
