Om Prakash Rajbhar, who once along with Akhilesh Yadav was cornering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is most vocal against Akhilesh Yadav these days. Not that this is the first time. Om Prakash Rajbhar’s relationship with Akhilesh Yadav has been first sour, then sweet, then sour. Sometimes he roars at Akhilesh Yadav, sometimes he softens his tone. Om Prakash Rajbhar’s politics is like this in Uttar Pradesh.
Om Prakash Rajbhar, who fielded a candidate against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal United in the Bihar Assembly elections, is calling himself a true well-wisher of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is cursing Akhilesh Yadav fiercely in the name of caste equation. He says that it is impossible for Akhilesh Yadav to win UP.

Only NDA showed its eye in Bihar
Om Prakash Rajbhar’s political party Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) had adopted a different path from NDA in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Initially SBSP had asked for 3 seats. When the NDA alliance did not give even three seats, it separated and staked its claim on more than 100 seats. He also claimed to contest elections alone on more than 100 seats. Candidates were also fielded on about 27 seats but could not get success. If nothing was found in Bihar, now Om Prakash Rajbhar is setting his foot in UP.
On what issues is OP Rajbhar angry with Akhilesh Yadav?

The policies made against the backward, extremely backward, Dalits and the poor during your rule weakened social justice and limited power and resources to certain sections only. But remember, the Rajbhar community has now woken up, has stood up for its honor and rights, and is not going to bow down to any political pressure or lathicharge.
Om Prakash Rajbhar is accusing Akhilesh Yadav of weakening the Rajbhar caste. He says that Akhilesh Yadav is creating a Chakravyuh to divide Rajbhar votes. Om Prakash Rajbhar believes that earlier the people of Rajbhar community were forced to form crowd in his rallies, now Rajbhar is independent and has his own political representation. Om Prakash Rajbhar has accused Akhilesh Yadav of targeting the common people of Rajbhar society.
Om Prakash Rajbhar has cornered Akhilesh Yadav on social media. He wrote, ‘Akhilesh Yadav, your restlessness is no longer hidden. The pain of being away from power and the diminishing chances of returning are disturbing you from within. This is the reason why today you are uncomfortable with that Rajbhar society, which was once forced to increase the crowd in your rallies, but today is participating equally in power with its rights and respect.
He said, ‘To stop Omprakash Rajbhar, you have created a complete maze, to suppress the voice of the poor, to not allow the backward and extremely backward people to get their rights, and most of all, to stop the classification of reservation. You know very well that the day reservation is properly classified, the real entitlements will get their rights, and the ground of your politics will be lost. Why is Om Prakash Rajbhar calling Rajbhar ‘Marshal’?
Rajbhar community traces its origin to the ‘Bhar’ dynasty. There is folklore within the community that the community ruled large parts of Awadh and Purvanchal during the medieval period. King Suheldev was the greatest warrior of the society. He defeated Ghazi Salar Masood in the battle of Bahraich in the 11th century. A fair is also organized every year at the grave of Ghazi Mian. This community associates itself with King Suheldev.
Yadav vs Rajbhar Is OP Rajbhar?
Om Prakash Rajbhar has now come down to the politics of Yadav vs Rajbhar. He told Akhilesh Yadav, ‘Even when your government was there, the poor Yadavs were poor and even today a large number of them are in the same condition. Before teaching history to Bahujan and non-Yadav backward communities, understand that the history of Yadavs is not the history of Bahujan society. Perhaps you yourself may find it difficult to list the names of 10 real revolutionaries in your history and please do not give such names which are known for crimes.
Om Prakash Rajbhar said, ‘The real history of Bahujan Samaj is of those great personalities who struggled, sacrificed and gave direction to the society. Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar, Avanti Bai Lodhi, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Jhalkari Bai, Uda Devi, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram are the real inspiration, they are the pillars of Bahujan consciousness and not the political history of some families in power.

Now you will get your rights, respect and participation will also be decided.
Now what is the relationship between Akhilesh Yadav and OP Rajbhar?
The formal alliance of Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party and Om Prakash Rajbhar’s Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) took place in October 2021. Both had come together for the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Earlier, he had been a part of the BJP alliance. Under this alliance, both the parties contested the elections together, in which Rajbhar was considered an important OBC face of the Samajwadi Party alliance.
Immediately after the elections, differences increased on issues like Rajya Sabha, by-elections and Presidential elections in July 2022. Om Prakash Rajbhar gave time till July 12 to Samajwadi Party and announced to break the alliance. After this, Rajbhar again joined the BJP-led NDA in 2023-24. Now he has been cornering Akhilesh Yadav since then.

Why is Akhilesh Yadav the target of Om Prakash Rajbhar?
Akhilesh Yadav does backward, Dalit and minority politics in UP. They have named it ‘PDA’ from the year 2024. Now instead of focusing only on Yadavs and Muslims, he is trying to reach out to all the backward castes. He hopes that if he gets support from non-Yadav Other Backward Classes (OBC), his politics will shine in the state.
Om Prakash Rajbhar also calls himself a leader of backward people. Om Prakash Rajbhar calls Akhilesh’s PDA exercise fake. He says that Akhilesh Yadav neither gives tickets to non-Yadavs nor gives them their rightful rights. Om Prakash Rajbhar has said on many platforms that the move of ‘Vote ours, Raj yours’ will no longer work.

Our history is the history of Maharaja Suheldev Rajbhar, Queen Avanti Bai Lodhi. We will continue to take our political rights. There are marks of sticks of Yadavs on the back of Garib-Gurba. We will not spread the carpet for Akhilesh to come to power.
Om Prakash Rajbhar’s party, SBSP is now mobilizing non-Yadav backward castes. He has been successful to a great extent in wooing the Rajbhar and Lodh communities and wants separate representation for them. If Om Prakash Rajbhar is seen with Samajwadi Party then his own vote bank will be in danger, now if he messes with Akhilesh then his own core vote bank will be one. Now he is also singing the tune of Yadav vs Rajbhar. Akhilesh Yadav is avoiding saying anything directly to OP Rajbhar.
What is OP Rajbhar’s fear?
Om Prakash Rajbhar is counted among the great leaders of his caste. He is the biggest face of Rajbhar community. Rajbhar community is in a decisive position in Purvanchal. In Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Azamgarh, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Deoria and Ambedkar Nagar, the entire society is in a position to decide victory or defeat. This community is dominant in about 60 to 120 assembly seats.
There are 25-30 seats where Rajbhar voters can decide victory or defeat. In many areas of Purvanchal, their vote bank ranges from 12 percent to 20 percent. This is the reason whether it is Samajwadi Party or BJP, no one is able to ignore Om Prakash. Om Prakash Rajbhar is afraid of losing this vote, he has already started mobilizing Rajbhar votes.
