Mahindra Thar New model : Leading car manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has now launched its new Thar in India. Its name is Mahindra Thar OG. Price and variants
The new Mahindra Thar OG has been introduced in three trims: AXT, LXT and ZXT. The price of these three variants is like this-
Mahindra Thar OG AXT- Rs 10.32 lakh
Mahindra Thar OG LXT- Rs 12.99 lakh
Mahindra Thar OG ZXT- Rs 13.99 lakh
2.2-litre diesel engine
Apart from this, the price of 2.2-litre diesel LXT is ₹ 16.49 lakh for RWD automatic, ₹ 16.43 lakh for 4WD manual and ₹ 18 lakh for 4WD automatic. Prices for the ZXT start at ₹17.49 lakh with the same engine and go up to ₹18.99 lakh for the 4WD automatic.
2.0-litre petrol engine
The LXT with the 2.0-litre petrol engine is priced at ₹14.77 lakh for RWD automatic, ₹15.60 lakh for 4WD manual and ₹17.23 lakh for 4WD automatic. ZXT Petrol price starts from ₹16.09 Lakh and goes up to ₹17.75 Lakh.

In such a situation, the price of new Thar OG goes from Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh. Its delivery will start from 11 October 2026. According to the company, the introductory prices will be applicable to vehicles delivered till November 30, 2026.
New Mahindra Thar OG Engine
Mahindra has given three engine options in Thar OG. The 1.5-litre D117 CRDe diesel engine produces 87.2kW of power and 300Nm of torque as before. This engine is only available with RWD and manual gearbox.
The 2.0-litre G20 TGDi petrol engine has got more power than before. It now generates 119kW power and 330Nm torque.
The 2.2-litre D22 mHawk diesel engine produces 111.9kW of power and 330Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are available with the option of RWD automatic, 4WD manual and 4WD automatic.

The new Thar OG is built on the company's new MGlyde 4G platform. According to the company, this platform is stronger than before.

electronic power steering
The SUV has Watts Link with rear Pentalink suspension. Apart from this, work has been done to reduce Electronic Power Steering and better NVH i.e. noise, vibration and shocks.
It also has Davinci damping technology, which helps in improving the way the suspension works in different conditions.
Features
Many features are going to be available in the new Mahindra Thar OG. Talking about the cabin, the top ZXT variant gets Truffle Brown colored embossed leatherette seats and leatherette wrapped steering wheel. LXT and ZXT have a 10.25-inch HD Touchscreen infotainment system, which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
