Gary Oldman has ended a long-running debate over who is going to play the next James Bond.
The British superspy was played by Daniel Craig in the last installment in 2021, after which he stepped down from the role.
It was reported that a hunt had officially begun to find the new face of 007 with many names being tipped as frontrunners.
Now, as per Oscar winning star Gary Oldman, the hunt is over.
Speaking with Canada’s Global, Gary backed Jack Lowden for the role saying “It’s been rumoured that he’s on the shortlist. We’re going to find out pretty soon, aren’t we?”
He added “Because they have picked him,” confirming that the name has been locked in already.
The 68-year-old said “They have made their choice, but they have not announced it yet. So my fingers are crossed for Jack.”
Other names being tipped as potential Bond included Harris Dickinson, Callum Turner and Jacob Elordi.
Jack Lowden will soon star in Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice as Mr. Darcy.
