Northern Railway became support to blind railway workers, distributed 123 AI smart glasses

Taking a big step for the visually impaired railway personnel, Northern Railway on Tuesday distributed 123 Jyoti AI Smart Glasses. Railways has taken this step to make the work of visually impaired railway personnel more easy and effective and also to increase self-reliance. Rajesh Kumar Pandey, General Manager, Northern Railway, distributed Jyoti AI Smart Glasses to the visually impaired employees of Northern Railway at the National Railway Museum, Delhi.

 

This step was taken under the provisions of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

 

What did Rajesh Pandey say?

 

On this occasion, Rajesh Pandey said, 'Today, Northern Railway is taking initiative to provide smart glasses equipped with modern technology to visually impaired railway employees. On this occasion, a total of 123 visually impaired people will get benefit from Northern Railway. In the first phase, smart glasses were distributed to a total of 16 visually impaired people of the main office. This will help the employees to work with more ease and confidence in the workplace as well as in their daily life.

Officers participated in the program

 

Additional General Manager of Northern Railway Harsh Khare, Principal Chief Personnel Officer Sujit Kumar Mishra, all the department heads of Northern Railway and representatives of recognized unions and associations of Northern Railway were present in this program. During the event, employees also shared their positive experiences about the use of smart glasses, their usefulness and the help they provide in daily tasks.

 

Visually impaired railway employees were told by wearing AI glasses that they were feeling better than before. Employees reported that these smart glasses are helpful in performing their tasks more easily and effectively.
