NSD campus will be built in Bihar, youth will get opportunity, CM Samrat Chaudhary expressed gratitude to PM Modi

Patna: Now new opportunities are going to open for the youth associated with theater and performing arts in Bihar. Recently news has come out that the Central Government has approved the establishment of a new campus of National School of Drama (NSD) in the state. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on this decision.

The Chief Minister on Tuesday said the opening of NSD campus in Bihar is a major achievement for the rich theater and performing arts tradition of the state. This is expected to further strengthen the cultural identity of Bihar at the national level.

Young artists will get benefit

Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that the land of Bihar has an old connection with theater and folk arts. This state has been associated with great personalities like Kalidas, Ramvriksha Benipuri and Bhikhari Thakur. Along with this, the CM said that the folk theater traditions of Bihar have made an important contribution to the cultural heritage of the country.

After the opening of the new campus of NSD, the young artistes of the state will get a better opportunity to take professional training in theatre. It is expected to provide training and study facilities in fields like acting, stagecraft, performing arts and research. This will reduce the need for local talents to look to other states to hone their skills.

Announcement of making film city in Bihar also

Let us tell you, Bihar government has already announced to build a film city in the state. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary had mentioned this scheme during the grand finale of 'Bhojpuri Bawal' program. During this program, he had appealed to Bhojpuri artists to cooperate in choosing a suitable place for the Film City.

The Chief Minister had said that the youth of Bihar have the potential to progress as actors, directors, writers, musicians and in other fields related to film production. The government has also invited people associated with the film industry to come and work in the state. It has been told that permission has already been given for shooting of about 54 films in Bihar.

Sunil Shetty has also met

Some time ago, actor Sunil Shetty also met Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. After the meeting, the actor had talked about starting film production in Bihar soon. If NSD Campus and the proposed Film City are seen together, new avenues can open up for the youth associated with film and theater in Bihar in the future.
