New Delhi, 19 September 2026: Even though more than 490 days have passed since 'Operation Vermillion' conducted by the Indian Armed Forces, the Pakistani Army has still not recovered from the shock imposed by India. The scars of the massive attack on Pakistani military bases by the Indian Air Force are still visible there. Recently surfaced satellite images have revealed that the damage caused by the Indian BrahMos missile attack on Pakistan's strategically important 'Sargodha Air Force Base' is still being repaired.
According to sources, in the 'Ventor' satellite image taken on September 12, a large flat portion of land and road is clearly visible on the left side of Sargodha airbase junction. Its texture and color are completely different from the surrounding asphalt road, indicating recent excavation and runway repairs. Sargodha airbase is located about 172 kilometers north-west of Lahore and about 200 kilometers from the India-Pakistan border near Amritsar. Satellite images show efforts to reconstruct the runway, with a portion of the runway appearing black and shiny, while the other half is still in incomplete condition.
According to the report, analysis of satellite images has revealed that repairs have been started again on the northern part of the runway. The huge crater left on the runway by the Indian missile attack was previously repaired with immediate patchwork, but as those makeshift repairs were not successful, it has now been dug up again to sub-grade level. This shows that after the rough work of the first phase, the surface of the runway had settled, due to which Pakistan had to rebuild it from the ground up.

India's 'Operation Vermillion'
India had conducted 'Operation Vermillion' against Pakistan from May 7 to May 10 last year. Under this operation, the Indian Air Force entered the border of Pakistan and carried out airstrike on a specific target. During this period, as many as 11 major airbases of Pakistan were targeted, of which Sargodha airbase was the main one. Bharti (retd) had said that the Indian Air Force had hit the exact centerline of the runway of Sargodha airbase with the BrahMos missile from a distance of more than 300 kilometers, which proves the strength and accuracy of the Indian Air Force.
