Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray praised the students protesting across the country over the NEET paper leak case. Addressing a gathering at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Sunday, he said the student movement was the beginning of a bigger fight against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Uddhav Thackeray said that by demonstrating their unity, students have written a golden chapter in India’s democratic history. This movement has now spread across the country. He said that votes can be stolen, but people cannot be stolen.

People ask, ‘The elections are still three years away, so why are we speaking out?’ The answer is that Modi has now understood that votes can be stolen, but not people. No election has been won today. Patriots have defeated blind devotees. This is a fight between the BJP and India.”

Uddhav Thackeray said, “I want to tell Prime Minister Modi to focus on the country now. Your ministers are busy breaking up political parties. Tell them to work for the country.”
“I will never forget the pain of losing my children.”
Uddhav Thackeray said, “How painful was it to remove my favorite Dharmendra Pradhan from the cabinet? Was this pain greater than the pain of the families of the students whose children lost their lives? I will never forget this pain.”
Uddhav Thackeray appealed to the youth not to let this awareness wane. Don’t tolerate the arrogance of power. You have demonstrated the power of the people. Don’t let anyone weaken the country again.
Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at the statements of ministers
Uddhav Thackeray said, “The Finance Minister doesn’t talk about inflation and the falling rupee, but instead talks about the benefits of question paper leaks. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh should be protecting the country’s borders, but he’s defending the Prime Minister. Nitin Gadkari is now talking about ethanol. Uddhav said this is going to be the next big issue.”
