PM Modi and JP Nadda told the importance of yoga, laid emphasis on adopting it for a healthy life.
International Yoga Day: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day, Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done important work for humanity by giving global recognition to Yoga. He said that the increasing awareness in the world towards Yoga is proof that it is not just an exercise, but has become an effective medium towards a healthy life. Nadda said that celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day shows the global acceptance of yoga. He said that Yoga should not be limited to the tradition of any one country but should become a part of the lifestyle of the whole world and become a means of human welfare, with this purpose Yoga Day is celebrated every year.
He said that regular yoga practice provides mental peace, balance and stress-free life to a person. Yoga promotes physical health as well as mental and emotional strength, he said, citing Prime Minister Modi’s views that continuous practice of yoga gives a person the opportunity to understand his body and mind better, thereby leading life more effectively.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “Yoga for Healthy Aging” should not be limited to the elderly only. According to him, yoga is equally useful for people of every age group and plays a helpful role in maintaining health, energy and positivity at every stage of life.
Addressing the International Yoga Day program organized at Red Road in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, Prime Minister Modi said that the biggest feature of yoga is to connect people with each other. He said that today through yoga, people of the country and the world are seen on a common platform, which shows its wide acceptance.
The Prime Minister greeted people around the world and the entire human community on the occasion of International Yoga Day. He said that Yoga is not just a physical activity, but a medium to establish balance in life and connect people together.
Prime Minister Modi also praised the cleanliness campaign run by the people of West Bengal, calling it an inspiring initiative and saying that such efforts play an important role in bringing positive change in the society. The Prime Minister said that Yoga is the foundation of a healthy life, while cleanliness is the identity of a healthy society. Both together contribute to building a stronger and better India.
