New Delhi/Shimla. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the death of seven people in the bus accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district. He has also wished for the speedy recovery of all the injured. This information was given by the Prime Minister’s Office. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Narendra Modi said, “The loss of lives in the accident in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh is extremely saddening. My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon.”
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also expressed his condolences over the accident. He wrote in an X-post, “The news of the death of seven people and injury to 11 others in a bus accident near Chaluj turn on the Teesa-Bairgarh road in Chamba district is extremely saddening. My deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in this tragic accident. May God rest the souls of the departed in His feet and give strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss.”
Chief Minister Sukhu also directed the district administration to ensure that all the injured are immediately admitted to nearby hospitals and receive proper treatment. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of all the injured.
BJP MP Suresh Kashyap wrote, “The news of the Sharma bus accident on the Chamba-Bairgarh road near Chalunj turn in the Bairagarh area of Chamba district is extremely sad. The news of the untimely demise of many people in this horrific road accident is extremely painful. May God give place to the departed souls in his feet.”
The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when a private bus was traveling from Bairagarh to Chamba. The bus lost control and fell off the road at the Chaluj turn near Devikothi on the Teesa-Bairgarh main road. A total of 18 people were on board, and some were crushed under the bus after the accident. The Chamba District Disaster Management Authority later confirmed seven deaths and 11 injuries. Official information regarding the cause of the accident and the identities of the deceased and injured has not yet been released.
