PM Modi visited Hooghly river, met sailors on the banks, said- ‘Ganga has a special place in the mind of every Bengali’
Kolkata, 24 April. Amid the election campaign in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spent time on the banks of Hooghly river in Kolkata and expressed his reverence for Mother Ganga. He said that Ganga has special significance for every Bengali and this river flows in the soul of Bengal. Along with boating, PM Modi also captured the beautiful scenes on the banks of the Hooghly river in his camera.
Sharing pictures on the social media platform ‘X’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote, “Ganga has a very special place for every Bengali. It can be said that Ganga resides in the soul of Bengal. Its holy waters carry with itself the eternal spirit of an entire civilization. This morning in Kolkata, I spent some time on the banks of the Hooghly river. It was an opportunity to express my gratitude to Mother Ganga.”
During this, he also met sailors and people taking morning strolls on the banks of Hooghly. “I also had the opportunity to meet boatmen, whose hard-working nature is admirable. And also met morning walkers. On the banks of the Hooghly River, I reiterated my commitment to work for the development of West Bengal and the prosperity of the great Bengali people,” he wrote in the post.
PM Modi was holding a camera in his hand during the tour of Hooghly River. He also shared some more photos from the banks of Hooghly, where he was seen meeting people. PM Modi also accepted the greetings of the people roaming on the banks of the river. During this time, he also tried to do photography of the river and saw the close view of Vidyasagar Setu and Howrah Bridge.
PM Modi wrote in another post, “I also tried to take pictures of this river. I also got a close glimpse of Vidyasagar Setu and Howrah Bridge.” Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi will address election rallies in Dumdum and Jadavpur of West Bengal on Friday. He will reach Dumdum around 11.30 am and hold a big rally. After this, he will hold a rally in Jadavpur at 1 pm.
