PM Modi’s Midnight Video Promises Tough Law, Rahul Gandhi, CJP Demands Pradhan’s Resignation

NEET Paper Leak Update:- The NEET paper leak issue has escalated significantly. For the past month, lakhs of students—alongside the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’—have been seen protesting at Jantar Mantar over this matter. Videos going viral on social media show some students using objectionable language regarding Prime Minister Modi and questioning his education. Protests against the NEET paper leak are being witnessed in various cities across India.

Amidst this, Prime Minister Modi shared a video message for students on social media platforms Instagram and In the video, PM Modi stated that the government would enact a law providing for stringent punishment against paper leaks.

PM Modi said the Cabinet would discuss the relevant draft today and make tough decisions. Once approved, it will be tabled in Parliament next week, with efforts made to pass it as quickly as possible.

PM Modi posted a 2.56-minute video message on X, stating that paper leaks are not a trivial matter; They cause immense distress to lakhs of students and their parents. Consequently, several measures have been taken over the past two and a half months since the leak occurred; the culprits have been apprehended and are currently in jail. He noted that it was their responsibility to ensure students did not lose an academic year, so the exam for 2.2 million (22 lakh) students was conducted in a short timeframe, with results declared on July 19.

PM Modi further stated that he would not be satisfied with these measures alone; Therefore, instructions have been issued to establish fast-track courts. Departments submitted the draft to him late at night, incorporating provisions for fast-track courts and severe penalties. The Cabinet is set to discuss this on Friday.

What did Rahul Gandhi say about the PM’s video message?

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi dismissed it as a “useless midnight video.” He wrote, “Mr Modi, our students are demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Do not insult their intelligence with this useless midnight video.” Remove Pradhan, punish those who beat the students, and apologize.

CJP has stated that the strictest action the government can take regarding the exam irregularities is to remove Union Education Minister Pradhan.
CJP National Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said, “Modi-ji, remove Dharmendra Pradhan immediately.”

Opposition attacks the Modi government

Even after PM Modi’s announcement regarding the formation of a fast-track court, the opposition continues to attack the Modi government. The opposition demands that Dharmendra Pradhan be removed and that those who beat the students be punished. Amidst all this, students and a large number of youths remain steadfast in their protest at Jantar Mantar.
