Technology Desk: India is now strengthening its role in the preparation of 6G technology. According to the US Commerce Ministry, India, America and 24 other countries will work together on the development of 6G network and setting the rules related to it. With this, India will have an important role in deciding the future of 6G.
The US Commerce Ministry gave this information on social media platform X. According to the ministry, the objective of this partnership is to create 6G technology that is secure and promotes innovation along with strengthening the technical capacity of countries.
Discussion between India and America
This announcement has come at a time when G20-related meetings are going on in Miami, America. Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasad met US Commerce Secretary Howard Latnick. Many technical issues including 6G were discussed between the two leaders.
Earlier in July this year, India had joined the '6G Leadership and Security' initiative of America's telecom agency NTIA.
Emphasis on creating secure 6G network
Under this partnership, 26 countries including India will work on creating a secure and reliable system for 6G networks for the next 12 months.
Its main objective is to strengthen cyber security in 6G networks, to enable network equipment of different companies to work easily with each other and to use secure AI to run the network better.
India preparing to become global hub of 6G
The Indian government wants to develop the country as a global hub of 6G technology through its 'India 6G Mission'. India's goal is not to use only 6G networks. The government wants that patents, equipment and low-cost telecom products related to 6G should be produced in the country and these can be exported to other countries.
This can help India become self-reliant in future telecom technology as well as strengthen its technological position at the global level.
