Question on the shine of Vande Bharat! 537 complaints from cleaning to maintenance, know the complete figures
Tezzbuzz Desk – Questions are being raised regarding the facilities for passengers in Vande Bharat Express, one of the most modern and fast trains of the country. According to railway data, passengers have lodged a large number of complaints in Vande Bharat trains of Northern Railway between April and June 2026.
According to the information, a total of 537 complaints were received regarding Vande Bharat trains between April 1 and June 21, 2026. Among these, most of the complaints came regarding the cleaning system of the train.
Most complaints regarding cleanliness
According to the data, passengers have lodged 327 complaints related to cleanliness. Apart from this, 133 complaints were received regarding the maintenance of the train.
Passengers lodged 21 complaints regarding the availability of water, 15 regarding catering, 13 regarding malfunction of electrical equipment, 6 regarding bedrolls and 6 regarding the behavior of the staff.
Apart from this, complaints regarding security arrangements, train delays, facilities for disabled passengers and corruption related matters have also come to light.
Most complaints in Delhi division
If we look at the railway division, maximum complaints have been registered in Delhi division. A total of 250 complaints have been made by passengers here.
After this, 150 complaints were registered in Jammu division, 97 in Lucknow division, 30 in Firozpur division and 10 in Moradabad division.
More complaints in these Vande Bharat trains
64 complaints were registered in New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express of Jammu division and 41 complaints were registered in Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express.
In Delhi division, 45 complaints were received regarding Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat, while 32 complaints were registered in the train on New Delhi-Katra route.
In Lucknow division, 28 complaints were received regarding New Delhi-Varanasi Vande Bharat and 20 complaints were received regarding Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat.
IRCTC has been fined in the catering case
Complaints have already surfaced regarding the quality of food in Vande Bharat trains. In March 2026, Railways had imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on IRCTC after complaints of poor quality of food in Patna-Tatanagar Vande Bharat Express.
Apart from this, a fine of Rs 50 lakh was also imposed on the concerned service provider and its contract was ordered to be terminated.
