Mumbai: The makers of Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Jailer 2’ have put recent postponement rumours to rest, confirming that the highly anticipated sequel will release in theatres on October 15 as scheduled.
The clarification comes after reports claimed that the film’s release could be pushed back amid speculation about reshoots.
On Wednesday, Sun Pictures shared a new poster confirming that the Rajinikanth-starrer remains on track for its October 15 release, while dismissing reports of a delay.
The caption read, “October 15 Alappara Kelappurom (We are raising a storm).”
The October 15 release falls during the Dussehra holiday period, giving the film a potentially strong window at the box office and raising expectations of a big opening weekend.

The makers first announced the release date of Jailer 2 in July, unveiling a slick, action-packed teaser alongside it.
While the teaser kept the sequel’s plot largely under wraps, it offered glimpses of its star-studded cast and generated curiosity with its intense visuals and high-stakes atmosphere.
‘Jailer 2’ is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures.
The film serves as a sequel to the 2023 blockbuster ‘Jailer’, which starred Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan in the lead roles.
For the sequel, the duo will reprise their respective characters, ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian and Vijaya Pandian. Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik are also set to return in their respective roles.
