Rajinikanth’s popularity has long extended beyond the big screen and his growing demand on streaming platforms is another reflection of his massive star power.
Over the past few years the reported value of the OTT rights for his films has increased significantly highlighting the Superstar’s strong position in the digital market.
While streaming deals are generally kept confidential industry reports have offered estimates for some of Rajinikanth’s recent films.
Annaatthe, released in 2021, reportedly secured an OTT deal of around ₹40 crore. His 2023 blockbuster Jailer was said to have fetched approximately ₹75 crore, although different reports have quoted varying figures.
The reported value for Vettaiyan, released in 2024, was estimated at ₹65–90 crore. Rajinikanth’s Coolie reportedly took another big step, with its digital rights said to be worth around ₹110–120 crore.
The biggest reported deal so far is for Jailer 2, which is said to have been sold for approximately ₹160 crore. The sequel once again features Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian and is directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, with music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Jailer played a key role in strengthening Rajinikanth’s digital market value after its strong theatrical performance. The reported figures for his subsequent films suggest that streaming platforms continue to see considerable value in his star power.
Although the exact amounts remain unconfirmed, the reported deals indicate that Rajinikanth’s appeal remains strong across both theatrical and OTT audiences.
