The resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra were accepted in the Trust meeting. Trust Treasurer Govind Dev Giri said in a press conference that the trustees are hurt and concerned by the irregularities in the process of counting the offerings and express deep regret over this unfortunate episode.
Govind Dev said that in the initial investigation of SIT, names of eight people came up, against whom prima facie evidence was found. The Trust filed a case against him and arrests were also made. Now the entire matter is progressing as per law. The Trust has a clear opinion that whoever is guilty, strictest punishment should be given under legal action against him. The scope of SIT is not limited to just investigation but also to suggest what necessary reforms should be made in the trust arrangements so that the system can become more strong, robust and transparent.
The Trust also decided to remove Gopal Nagarkote from the list of special invitees.
The release said that after the preliminary report of the SIT, General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Anil Mishra have resigned on moral grounds. Their resignations were put up for consideration in Monday’s meeting. The Trust has accepted the resignations of both, following a fair investigation and on ethical grounds. The Trust has also decided to remove Gopal Nagarkote from the list of special invitees. The Trust believes that the truth will come out after the legal investigation process is completed. Till then it is not right to blame anyone.
