New Delhi: Rapido users faced major problems this morning in many cities of India. There was a sudden technical glitch in the ride-hailing app, due to which people were not able to book rides. This problem arose especially during peak hours of commuting to office, due to which the schedules of thousands of people got disturbed.
App stalled from Bengaluru to Delhi
Users complained on social media that the Rapido app is not working. On Many users reported that even after logging out and logging in again and deleting and reinstalling the app, the problem was not fixed.
People had to struggle a lot due to the app being stalled during the time when most people leave for office between 9 to 11 in the morning. Many people said that they did not get auto and bike rides and had to switch to other apps.
The company said – there was a short-term problem, now it is fine.
Sources told ET that the Rapido had experienced a technical glitch for a brief period. This was not a major outage but a minor glitch on the server side. The company's tech team immediately worked on it and now the app is completely fine and service is normal in all cities.
Although no official statement has been given by the company yet on X or through app notification, but users confirmed in the afternoon that ride booking has started again.
Problems increased due to malfunction during peak hours
Rapido is especially popular for bike taxis in India and millions of people use it every day. In such a situation, closure of the app at peak time becomes a big problem for the users. Many users said that they got late for meetings and office.
Tech experts believe that due to the festive season and increasing demand, there was a high load on the server, which may have caused this glitch. The company will have to strengthen the backup system to avoid such problems. Currently, Rapido's service is live again in all cities and users are able to book rides with ease.
