Shiprocket IPO subscribed 102 times: GMP 35%, listing on August 19, expected to reach Rs 131 at issue price of Rs 97

Technology Desk: ShipRocket IPO has received tremendous response from investors. After the end of the three-day bidding process, the IPO received a total subscription of 102.28 times. About 938 crore shares were bid against against 9.44 crore shares. In the gray market, the company's shares are trading at a premium of about 35%. This has increased the expectation of good returns on listing.

IPO worth Rs 1,617 crore, upper price band was Rs 97

ShipRocket had targeted to raise a total of Rs 1,617.59 crore through the IPO. The company had fixed the price band of the share at Rs 92 to Rs 97. Investors bid strongly in all three categories – QIB, NII and Retail.

The QIB received subscription of 125.20 times against the reserved 5.09 crore shares. The NII category received bids of 92.58 times against the 2.60 crore shares, while the bids were 48.38 times against the 1.73 crore shares reserved for retail investors.

GMP Rs 34, indicating 35% listing gain

Gray Market Premium i.e. GMP of Shiprocket is said to be around Rs 34 per share. This is about 35% more than the upper price band of Rs 97.

If GMP remains at this level till listing then the share can be listed at around Rs 131. That means the issue price of Rs 97 creates a potential listing gain of around Rs 34 or about 35%. However, GMP is an indication of the unofficial market and the actual listing price may differ.

Anchor investors invested Rs 727 crore

Before the opening of the IPO, the company had raised Rs 727.41 crore from anchor investors. They were allotted 7.50 crore equity shares at a price of Rs 97 per share.

66.76% stake in the anchor allotment i.e. 5 crore shares was bought by 13 domestic mutual funds through 31 different schemes. The company also has the support of big investors like Temasek and Eternal.

Allotment on 17th August, listing on 19th August

The allotment of shares of ShipRocket IPO is expected to be finalized on 17 August 2026. Investors will be able to check their allotment status by visiting the website of KFin Technologies, the registrar of the issue.

The company's shares are expected to be listed on NSE and BSE on August 19, 2026. Now investors are eyeing this listing.

Both Fresh Issue and OFS included

9.13 crore new equity shares were issued in the IPO, worth Rs 885.60 crore. Apart from this, 7.55 crore shares were sold through OFS, which is worth about Rs 731.98 crore.

LR India Fund I SARL ISICAV-RAIF is the largest investor selling shares in the OFS. He is estimated to get around Rs 258.49 crore. Arvind Limited is expected to get around Rs 161 crore, while co-founders Gautam Kapoor and Sahil Goyal are expected to get around Rs 144 crore each.

Where will the money received from IPO be used?

The company will use the proceeds from IPO for business expansion and strengthening technology infrastructure. About Rs 294 crore has been kept for marketing and branding and about Rs 211 crore for technology infrastructure.

Apart from this, about Rs 210 crore will be used to repay the loan or make premature payment. The remaining amount will be used for potential acquisitions, other inorganic growth opportunities and general corporate needs.

What does Shiprocket do?

Shiprocket is a technology-based e-commerce enablement platform. It provides services like shipping, checkout, payment, fulfillment, cross-border trade and customer experience to merchants on a single platform.

The company is now also engaged in services like fulfillment centres, cargo and heavy logistics, omnichannel commerce, international shipping, customs assistance, advertising, marketing, business financing and hyperlocal delivery.

More than 1.45 lakh active merchants

Shiprocket had more than 1.45 lakh active merchants on its platform in the six-month period ending September 30, 2025. These traders made more than 9.7 crore transactions and reached more than 4.2 crore customers.

The repeat customer rate of the company was 64.56%. Its network also includes more than 8,500 high-volume power merchants.

Now look at the listing of 19th August

More than 102 times subscription, strong institutional demand and around 35% GMP have made Shiprocket IPO the talk of the town. However, GMP is just an indication, not a guarantee of listing gains. Now the real test of the IPO will be on August 19, when the company's shares will start trading on NSE and BSE.
