Signs of infighting in TMC? Only 20 MLAs reached Mamta’s meeting
Tezzbuzz Desk – A new development has become a topic of discussion in the politics of West Bengal. Many questions have started being raised in political circles due to the arrival of much less number of leaders than expected in the meeting of MLAs called by Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee. Out of total 80 MLAs of the party, only about 20 MLAs attended the meeting, after which the opposition has got a chance to attack.
On Sunday, Mamata Banerjee had called a meeting of party MLAs at her Kalighat residence. This meeting was considered important in view of the attacks on party leaders and political developments in recent times. But limited attendance at the meeting gave rise to political speculation.
Some senior leaders and MLAs participated in the meeting, while a large number of MLAs remained absent. After this, political analysts started raising questions whether everything is normal within the party or whether some internal dissatisfaction is emerging.
However, Trinamool Congress has tried to dismiss these speculations. Party leader Kunal Ghosh clarified that many MLAs were busy in protests and organizational programs in their respective areas. According to him, programs were being organized in various areas against the attacks on party leaders, due to which many MLAs could not attend the meeting.
Kunal Ghosh also informed that many MLAs had already requested to postpone the meeting. For this reason, a formal meeting could not be held and only internal discussions took place among the leaders present.
Meanwhile, BJP has targeted Trinamool Congress on this issue. The opposition claims that low attendance at the meeting could be a sign of dissatisfaction with the party leadership. However, Trinamool Congress is continuously trying to convey the message that the party is completely united and all the MLAs are actively involved in organizational activities.
The party has also announced protest programs in the coming days. It is being told that the workers will protest in various areas, while Mamata Banerjee will also take part in a big protest program soon. In such a situation, the politics of West Bengal is likely to heat up further in the coming days.
