Singaporean billionaire heiress Kim Lim’s ex-employee jailed for stealing valuables including Patek Philippe watch, Louis Vuitton perfume

Tey Jing Wen, a 33-year-old Singaporean, was also banned from driving for two years and fined S$3,500 (US$2,735), the court ruled on Monday.

She was sentenced after pleading guilty to five charges, including theft as a servant, criminal breach of trust as an employee, driving without a license and drink driving. A further five charges were taken into consideration, CNA reported.

Tey joined Lim’s beauty, wellness and healthcare group, KL Health, in June 2022 as a human resources (HR) assistant.

She was promoted to head of HR two years later before taking on the role of regional coordinator and communicator in December 2024, in which she was responsible for monitoring the company operators’ overseas activities.

Tey was arrested in June 2025 after driving against traffic and failing a subsequent breathalyzer test. She was also found to have been driving a car rented by the company, whose keys she was tasked with safekeeping, without a valid driving license or any insurance.

Following the incident, Lim noticed a decline in Tey’s work performance and launched an internal investigation, which revealed that Tey had used the company’s credit card to spend more than S$19,000 at various clubs in May 2025.

The probe found that Tey had accessed the company’s safe, which contained some of Kim’s personal belongings, and stolen a Patek Philippe watch worth S$73,000 and red packets containing S$8,000, Mothership reported.

Police investigations discovered that Tey had sold the watch for just S$16,500 to cover some of her unauthorized credit card expenses and kept the remaining proceeds, along with the red packet money, for herself.

Among the charges were cheating a private establishment into supplying S$10,101 worth of beverages and criminal breach of trust for allegedly misappropriating S$66,000 and a further S$8,000 for personal use, AsiaOne reported, citing court documents.

Another theft charge involved other valuables belonging to Lim, including Tiffany & Co earrings valued at S$3,600, a Chanel cardigan worth S$6,929, a Bvlgari bracelet and several bottles of Dior and Louis Vuitton perfumes.

Lim is a prominent socialite with over 687,000 followers on Instagram, where she frequently offers glimpses into her lavish lifestyle.

Her wellness business, KL Health, comprises Papilla and four other brands under the Illumia Group umbrella, each specializing in different aspects of beauty and wellness.

Her father Peter Lim, 73, is a self-made billionaire who built his initial fortune as a stockbroker in the 1980s and was once dubbed Singapore’s “remisier king.”

He is one of the city-state’s richest people, according to Forbeswith an estimated net worth of US$1.85 billion. He also owns Spanish soccer club Valencia CF, whose president is his son, Kiat Lim.

A group of investors recently agreed to buy a 42% stake in Valencia from Peter’s private investment firm Meriton Holdings in a deal valuing the Spanish club at 1.25 billion euros (US$1.4 billion).
