Sonam Wangchuk recently reacted to Salman Khan’s viral “it’s done bro” remark during his hunger strike.
The 59-year-old activist, who made headlines for his hunger strike over the Cockroach Janta Party-led student protest, broke his silence on the superstar’s viral post that later became a meme.
During a conversation with Prakhar Gupta, Wangchuk shared that everyone had their own compulsions at the time.
Reacting to the statement, Wangchuk said, “Everyone would have had their share of compulsions. I don’t want to get into that. You have to look in all directions. The fact that he even said something at all, I respect that. Otherwise I can’t comment on his compulsions.”
Earlier, on July 22, the Dabangg star came out in support of the Cockroach Janta Party-led student protest over the NEET-UG paper leak.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Tiger actor called it a peaceful movement and appreciated the step taken by the youth.
However, a day after backing the demonstrations, Salman urged Wangchuk to end his hunger strike and the protests.
He penned, “Sonam, it’s done, bro. Don’t extend this. Keep the spirit for another day if there be a need, which I doubt, n eat something. If u want, will send u food from home.”
For the unversed, Wangchuk did not end his hunger strike after Salman’s post. He eventually called it off after former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post, as demanded by the protesters.
