Mumbai: Renowned singer Sonu Nigam, while enduring pain on the surgery table, impromptu sang a song for his doctor and medical staff.
Sonu Nigam shared a video of himself from the operation theatre on Instagram, in which he was seen singing Mohammed Rafi’s famous song “Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki, Na Jaane Tum Kab Aaoge” from the 1949 film ‘Dulari’.
The video’s caption read, “An impromptu performance for the lovely @drnileshsatbhai and his wonderful team during my surgery. Singing through pain… the joy of music! (folded hands emoji)”
As soon as this video reached social media, many people wished Sonu Nigam a speedy recovery.
Although it’s unclear why the singer underwent surgery, he shared a key health update on social media in June, revealing he was suffering from a painful nerve problem.
He stated that he was undergoing treatment and had undergone several MRI and CT scans. Sonu Nigam also stated that he had been taking medication for the past few days.
“I have a pinched nerve. I’ve been having MRIs and CT scans for a week. I’m taking a lot of medication,” he was heard saying in the video.
Showing a patch near his neck, Sonu Nigam also revealed that he’s been experiencing a heaviness in his throat due to a pinched nerve. Speaking about the challenges he faced during his treatment, Sonu Nigam said that physiotherapy has been a very painful experience for him, and the recovery process hasn’t been easy.
He added, “The physiotherapy was very painful. I’m taking painkillers now. My throat feels a little heavy because of that.”
As soon as the singer uploaded the video on social media, many people from the film industry expressed concern and wished him a speedy recovery.
