Tom Holland’s latest Spider-Man adventure has reportedly entered one of Hollywood’s most exclusive box-office clubs.
Crossing the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office is a rare achievement, reserved for some of the biggest blockbusters in cinema history. Now, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reportedly joined that elite group.
Starring Tom Holland, the superhero film has earned around $2.02 billion worldwide after just three weekends in theatres, making it the eighth film ever to cross the $2 billion milestone.
Released globally on July 31, the film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and continues the Spider-Man franchise with Holland in the lead.
According to the figures cited in the report, Spider-Man: Brand New Day reached $2 billion in just three weekends, making it the second-fastest film to hit the milestone after Avengers: Endgame.
The achievement is also significant for the Spider-Man franchise. The film has surpassed Spider-Man: No Way Home, which finished with approximately $1.9 billion worldwide.
Here are the other seven films that have crossed the $2 billion mark.
7. Avengers: Infinity War — $2.05 billion
Released in 2018, Avengers: Infinity War became the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to cross $2 billion worldwide.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the superhero epic brought together a huge ensemble of Marvel characters as they battled Thanos, who was seeking all six Infinity Stones.
The film eventually earned around $2.05 billion globally.
6. Star Wars: The Force Awakens — $2.07 billion

5. Titanic — $2.26 billion
James Cameron’s Titanic remains one of cinema’s most enduring box-office successes.
The 1997 romantic disaster film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, eventually accumulated around $2.26 billion worldwide.
Interestingly, the movie did not reach $2 billion during its original theatrical run. Its subsequent releases, including the 2012 3D re-release, pushed its lifetime earnings beyond the milestone.
4. Ne Zha 2 – $2.27 billion
Ne Zha 2 made history as the first non-Hollywood film and first animated feature to cross the $2 billion threshold, according to the figures cited.
Directed by Yu Yang, the Chinese animated blockbuster became a cultural phenomenon in its home market and earned approximately $2.27 billion worldwide.
Its extraordinary performance placed it among the highest-grossing films ever made.
3. Avatar: The Way of Water — $2.33 billion
James Cameron returned to Pandora with Avatar: The Way of Water in 2022, more than a decade after the original Avatar.
The sequel expanded the story of the Sully family while showcasing Pandora’s underwater world.
The film crossed $2 billion within around six weeks and ultimately collected approximately $2.33 billion worldwide.
With Avatar, Titanic and Avatar: The Way of Water, Cameron also became the first director to have three films cross the billion-dollar mark.
2. Avengers: Endgame — $2.80 billion
Few films generated the same level of anticipation as Avengers: Endgame.
Released in 2019, the Marvel blockbuster brought several long-running character arcs to a dramatic conclusion following years of interconnected storytelling.
The film earned approximately $2.80 billion worldwide and became the fastest film to cross $2 billion, reaching the milestone in just 11 days.
It also briefly overtook Avatar as the highest-grossing film of all time before Avatar regained the top spot.
1. Avatar — $2.92 trillion
At the top of the list is James Cameron’s 2009 blockbuster Avatar.
The groundbreaking science-fiction film transported audiences to the fictional world of Pandora and transformed expectations around 3D filmmaking and visual effects.
With approximately $2.92 billion in worldwide earnings, Avatar remains the highest-grossing film in history based on the figures cited.
It crossed the $2 billion mark just 47 days after its release, establishing a box-office benchmark that very few films have been able to match.
