India vs New Zealand Series 2026: The cricket series between India and New Zealand is still some time away, but the excitement is already at its peak in New Zealand. According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), tickets went on sale to the general public on Monday, before being open for pre-sale to Cricket Nation members, Sky customers and ANZ customers for 2 weeks.
There is a huge demand for tickets for all the matches against India. Notably, 75% of the tickets for the second T20 match to be played at Christchurch have already been sold. Tim Ellis, New Zealand Cricket’s head of marketing, described the response as “unprecedented”. He added that the Hagley Oval usually draws a large crowd, but it was surprising that more than three-quarters of the tickets were sold so long before the start of the match. A series of 5 T20, 5 ODI and 2 Test matches will be played between the two countries from October 22.
The sixth level of Eden Park will be specially opened for spectators after years
The popularity of the Indian cricket team can be estimated from the fact that the sixth level (Top Tier) of the famous Eden Park Stadium in Auckland is being opened for special spectators. This special arrangement has been made for the fourth T20 match to be played on October 30. It is worth noting that this part of Eden Park has been opened on very few occasions in recent years. Earlier this area was used only during the 2015 ODI World Cup and the 2018 T20 match between New Zealand and Australia. According to Tim Ellis, the opening of this level after years shows the tremendous enthusiasm of the fans.
