Stir in Bengal election trends: Mamata Banerjee’s big statement on TMC lagging, questions raised on Election Commission and central forces

Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has adopted a tough stance amid initial trends indicating that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is lagging behind and out of power amid the counting of votes for the West Bengal Assembly elections. In a video message released on social media, he instructed party workers and election agents not to leave the counting center under any circumstances.

Mamata Banerjee’s response to the trends-
With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) getting a huge lead in the initial trends and being ahead in more than 190 seats, Mamata Banerjee said that this is only an “estimated situation”. He claimed that the final results will be in favor of Trinamool Congress.

He appealed to the workers to remain patient and stand firm until the counting process is completed. Mamta also said that she had already predicted that BJP would be ahead in the initial round.

Serious allegations against the Election Commission-
Questioning the fairness of the election process, the Chief Minister alleged that at many places counting of votes was stopped after only a few rounds of counting, which is unusual. He said that the Election Commission is acting arbitrarily in the entire process.

Along with this, he also raised the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list and said that there were already indications of irregularities in the election process, which raises questions on transparency.

Central forces also targeted-
Mamata Banerjee also made serious allegations on the role of central security forces. According to him, pressure is being put on TMC workers in the state and an atmosphere of fear is being created.

He claimed that incidents of vandalism were taking place in party offices and workers were being harassed. He also said that Bengal Police is not able to work independently and is under pressure.

conclusion-
This statement of Mamata Banerjee amid the counting of votes is further heating up the political atmosphere. While on one hand BJP seems to be getting an edge in the trends, on the other hand the TMC chief has said that the fight will continue till the final result.
