Strictness on irregularities in Ayushman Bharat Niramayam, action taken against 83 hospitals so far in 8 months

trict action is being taken against irregularities in Ayushman Bharat ‘Niramayam’ scheme in Madhya Pradesh. During continuous monitoring and investigation of hospitals associated with this scheme in the state, action was taken against the hospitals when irregularities were found. Since January till now, action has been taken against 83 hospitals in the state. These include de-empanelment of 18 hospitals, stop payment on 15 hospitals and a total penalty of Rs 3 crore 13 lakh 79 thousand 311 has been imposed on 50 hospitals.

It is noteworthy that on the basis of complaints and investigation reports received in Bhopal, action is being taken against the concerned hospitals as per rules. Siddhanta Red Cross Super Specialty Hospital has been suspended from Ayushman Bharat ‘Niramayam’ scheme based on the report of the Chief Medical and Health Officer. Also, stop payment action has been taken on this. At the same time, a show cause notice letter has been issued in relation to Multi Care Hospital, Bhopal. Apart from this, inspection has been done by Ayushman Bharat Investigation Team in relation to the complaints received against two other hospitals. On the basis of available records and investigation report, necessary action is being taken against the concerned hospitals as per rules.

Zero tolerance on irregularities

State Health Agency Chief Executive Officer Arvind Shah said that any kind of irregularity will not be tolerated. The objective of the scheme is to provide quality, accessible and transparent health services to the eligible beneficiaries. He said that action is being taken as per rules on the basis of regular inspection of hospitals, review of claims, examination of available records and reports of concerned authorities. Other complaints received are also being examined. If irregularities are found in the investigation, action will be taken against the concerned hospitals as per rules.
