Gandhinagar, 6 August 2026: ‘Team Gujarat’ fully prepared to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games Congratulating the young athletes of Gujarat and the country, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi has said that ‘Team Gujarat’ is moving forward with full preparations for the successful organization of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.
The Deputy Chief Minister added that all the work is going on smoothly under the guidance of the Commonwealth Federation, Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Sports Department and Sports Authority of India (SAI).
Giving details, he said that after the closing ceremony and flag exchange program of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the Commonwealth Flag was formally handed over to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in a cabinet meeting today by the Glasgow 2026 delegation as well as athletes and para-athletes from Gujarat.
Apart from this, talking about the plans of the state government to further promote the sports sector, he said that in the coming days, the state government is working rapidly on specific plans and schemes so that more and more local players join and benefit from the district-level sports complexes located in all the districts of the state.
