Patna: In Bihar, the politics of the state has now heated up over the issue of transfer of teachers and outstanding salaries. Leader of Opposition and working president of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Tejashwi Yadav has sent a sharp letter to the state Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. Through this letter, Tejashwi has raised serious questions on the working style of the education department, irregularities in transfer of teachers and delay in salary payment. He termed it as administrative negligence and partisan attitude.

In his letter, Tejashwi Yadav has expressed strong objection to the current policy of transfer of teachers in government schools of the state. He alleged that there is a huge lack of transparency in this process and language teachers are being openly discriminated against.
The Leader of Opposition claimed that in many schools where only one teacher of these languages was posted, they have also been declared 'surplus' and put in the transfer list.
Demand for salary and language respect
Apart from the transfer of teachers, Tejashwi Yadav also raised the issue of aided madrassas and Sanskrit schools prominently. He demanded from the Chief Minister that the long pending salaries of teachers and employees working in these institutions should be released immediately. Along with this, he appealed to ensure mandatory posting of Urdu and Sanskrit teachers in every government school. Tejashwi said that Sanskrit and Urdu are part of our linguistic and cultural heritage, hence there should not be any policy discrimination against any language, subject or teacher. Tejashwi says that by removing the only teacher of a subject, the teaching of that language in schools will be on the verge of complete halt. Preparation for establishment of Gurukulam in the blocks
On the other hand, amidst opposition attacks, the state government is busy in reshaping the structure of the education system. Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari has announced that integrated schools and gurukulams will be established in every block of the state. Along with modern education, lessons on Vedas, science and skill development will also be taught in these centres. The government is going to start this scheme from Buxar district. In a state level programme, the Minister advised the officers not to remain limited to offices only, but to go to the ground level and establish dialogue with the public and public representatives.
