Telegram Update- Telegram returned to Google Play Store after NEET Re-Exam, but users are still not able to use these things
Friends, recently the government had banned Telegram for NEET Re-Exam, but after the temporary nationwide ban imposed by the Central Government after the exam, Telegram messaging app is back on Google Play Store. But even now users are not able to use these things, due to which there is a lot of dissatisfaction among the users.
Why was Telegram blocked?
This temporary ban was imposed following allegations of NEET 2026 question papers and content related to them being spread on Telegram channels. Acting on the request of the National Testing Agency (NTA), the government decided to block access to the platform during the crucial period of re-examination.
NEET re-examination conducted successfully
NEET UG re-examination was successfully completed during the suspension period. So far, there has been no news of any question paper leak or any major irregularity related to the examination.
Following the successful completion of the re-examination, the government lifted the temporary ban, allowing Telegram to return to the Google Play Store and operate normally.
Message editing feature is still disabled
Telegram is again available for download and use, but one important feature is still blocked. The government has directed Telegram to keep its message-editing feature closed till June 30, 2026.
As a result, users can send and receive messages as normal, but they will not be able to edit previously sent messages until the restriction is lifted.
The government had earlier expressed concern
Before the suspension was implemented, government officials had reportedly met with representatives of Telegram on June 3 to discuss concerns about the platform’s role in spreading fake exam-related content.
Following these discussions, Telegram and many of its associated web services were temporarily blocked across the country.
