Tension of railway employees increased: One mistake and salary will be reduced by 30%, know what is the new rule?
A very important and strict order has been issued for the running staff working in Indian Railways, which can have a direct impact on the pockets of thousands of employees. Under this new decision of the Railway Board, if a loco pilot or running staff member commits a serious lapse like ‘Signal Passed at Danger’ (SPAD) while on duty, he may now have to pay a heavy price. After this mistake, if the concerned employee is not able to pass the mandatory psychological (psycho) test, then his 30% running allowance will be stopped with immediate effect.
There will be a big impact on salary and pension
The work of loco pilots in Railways is highly responsible and risky, in return for which they are given an additional 30% ‘running allowance’ in addition to their basic salary. Not only this, at the time of retirement, 55% of this allowance is also added to their pension. But after the new order, employees who fail in the psycho test will not only have to lose this 30% allowance, but this additional benefit will also not be included in the calculation of their pension after retirement.
Earnings will decrease as soon as ‘non-running staff’ is created
According to the rules, as soon as an employee is declared failed in the psycho test, he will be put in the category of ‘non-running staff’ from the same day. This change means that the benefit of 30% running pay from the total salary received by the employee will be completely removed. This will have a direct and major impact on his monthly income as well as his future pension, which will be significantly reduced.
Railways is strict regarding security
Railway Board says that this strict step has been taken only and only to further strengthen train safety. Railway administration wants that the running staff should be fully alert towards their responsibilities and should not be negligent while on duty. However, there is an atmosphere of concern among the employees regarding this decision of the Railways. Many employees consider this to be very strict and say that it will have a negative impact on their hard-earned money and old age pension.
