Mumbai: The trailer of Sunny Deol’s much-awaited film ‘Bantwara 1947’ has been released. Made under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, this film is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. After the release of the trailer, a lot of excitement is being seen among the audience regarding it on social media. The film is based on the partition of India-Pakistan and through this film an attempt is being made to show the story of pain, separation and humanity of that period on the big screen.
What’s special in the trailer
The nearly three-minute trailer shows the struggle of a family during the partition of 1947. Amidst the tragedy of violence, migration and separation, the film gives the message that humanity and hope can survive even in the most difficult circumstances. The emotional scenes in the trailer along with grand visuals and powerful background score make its story more impactful.

Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s character
Sunny Deol is seen in the trailer in a character who sticks to his principles in every situation. Shabana Azmi is playing the role of a strong and wise elderly woman, who emerges as the biggest strength of the family. Preity Zinta’s character is also seen trying to keep the family united in every situation.
Apart from Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi and Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh will also be seen in important roles in the film. The special thing is that after almost 30 years, the pair of director Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have once again come together on the big screen.
The film got ‘A’ certificate
Recently, Sunny Deol had informed on social media that the film has been approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) without any cuts and it has been given ‘A’ certificate. Before the release of the trailer, the actor shared a picture with his mother and dedicated it to all the mothers of the world.
The music of the film is A. R. Rahman has composed it, while the lyrics have been written by Javed Akhtar. ‘Partition 1947’ produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit will be released in theaters worldwide on 14 August 2026 on the occasion of Independence Day.
