Monsoon arrives in 26 states, 1500 km long monsoon trough forms from Bengal to Kashmir, alert of heavy rain in North India from 1 to 4 July

New Delhi. Monsoon has entered the country in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh by Tuesday afternoon. Has covered 26 states in the country so far. Earlier on June 24, entry was taken in Madhya Pradesh-Gujarat. After this it was stuck for 6 days. Due to this, there is heat and humidity in many states.

On the other hand, news of relief is coming for Delhi and North India. Satellite images have shown the formation of a monsoon trough (long strip of low pressure) about 1,500 km long. It extends from the Bay of North Bengal to Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon trough has formed, but at present it is located close to the foothills of the Himalayas. This trough will gradually reach its normal position towards the south, North India may receive heavy rain over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir between July 1 and 4.

Monsoon Trough is a long strip of low pressure area, which is considered the backbone of the South-West Monsoon. This trough draws moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal to the interior parts of India. For this reason it rains in many areas of the country.
