Nani and director Srikanth Odela’s second collaboration after Dasara (2023), The Paradise, has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office during its opening week. The film arrived in theatres last Thursday after paid premieres on Wednesday.
Despite receiving mixed reactions and lukewarm reviews, The Paradise has managed to maintain a steady run at the box office.
According to trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 3.25 crore net in India on Wednesday, taking its domestic collection to Rs 104.75 crore. It recorded an overall occupancy of 17.74% across 5,411 shows.
The Paradise began its theatrical run with Rs 34.65 crore in India, including Rs 11.60 crore from the paid premieres. Its collections dropped to Rs 14.90 crore on the first Friday before picking up over the weekend.
However, the film has seen another decline since Monday, and its performance during the second weekend will determine whether it manages to regain momentum.
With its first-week total, The Paradise has surpassed several of Nani’s previous releases, including Dasara (Rs 81.93 crore), HIT: The Third Case (Rs 80.97 crore) and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram (Rs 63.21 crore).
The film now has to compete with titles such as Peddi (Rs 244.64 crore), Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu (Rs 218.47 crore), Irumudi (Rs 192.82 crore) and The Raja Saab (Rs 146.04 crore) in the ongoing box office race.
Meanwhile, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K T Rama Rao, popularly known as KTR, has also spoken about the film. He watched The Paradise at Sudharshan Theatre in Hyderabad on Saturday and described it as a story about oppression, survival and the arrival of a leader who gives recognition to a suppressed community.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise stars Nani in the lead role.
