New Delhi: The weather patterns are once again changing in the western and north-western states of the country. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned in its latest bulletin that a new weather system has become active over south-eastern Rajasthan and adjoining North Gujarat. Due to the effect of low pressure area and cyclonic winds, an alert of torrential rain has been issued in Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch. Meanwhile, conditions have started becoming completely favorable for the gradual withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from West Rajasthan around September 19.

National capital Delhi and surrounding areas will remain partly cloudy for the next few days. The minimum temperature in Safdarjung was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius.
There is a possibility of light rain, lightning and thunder from afternoon to evening between 15 and 17 September. During this period the maximum temperature can remain between 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rain forecast in hilly areas
The impact of the new seasonal cycle will be clearly visible in the plains and hilly states. In North India, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi-NCR may see heavy rains during September 15 to 17.
At the same time, in various areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, there is a possibility of torrential rains with thunderstorms and gusts of speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour between September 14 and 20. In the last 24 hours also, moderate to heavy rainfall has been recorded in districts like Banswara, Dungarpur and Chittorgarh of Rajasthan, where the highest rainfall of 109 mm was measured in Loharia and Sagwara.
Weather will deteriorate in Eastern India and North-Eastern states
Seasonal activities will intensify in the coming days in the states of Eastern India also. Widespread torrential rains with strong winds are predicted in Bihar on September 16 and 17. There is a possibility of strong gusts at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour and sporadic rain in Jharkhand between September 14 and 18. An alert of heavy rainfall has been issued over Odisha on September 19 and 20, while a warning of extremely heavy rainfall has been issued over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on September 16.
