‘There is no education in the country, there is an extortion system’, 5 big things from Rahul Gandhi’s rally

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi raised many questions on the education system of the country in the ‘Students’ Echo’ mega rally in Kota, Rajasthan. He alleged that today students are forced to commit suicide because of the education system. The education system of the country puts pressure on children. Gives them stress. Presses and crushes. This is not right for the country.

During this, Rahul Gandhi also talked to five students on the stage. In his address, Rahul Gandhi made it clear that the Maharally organized in Kota is not a political program. This program is about youth. He said that this evening we will not talk about BJP-Congress, elections and politics. There will be talk only about the youth and their challenges.

Rahul Gandhi said, ‘I feel very happy and honored to be here and standing in front of you people and Kota. The purpose of my coming here is to make it clear that this is not a political meeting. This meeting is about you, about the youth who are struggling to build their future.

1- Will not talk about BJP-Congress

He further said, ‘I will not use words like BJP, Congress, politics or elections. These words will not come out of my mouth this evening. This evening is for you. It is about what situation you are facing and what challenges you are facing on a daily basis.

Rahul Gandhi also mentioned his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and said, ‘Some time ago I did a 4 thousand kilometer walk from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. On the way I met millions of youth like you. I spoke to thousands of youth. My only question was, what do you want to do? I used to get five answers, but did not get the sixth answer. Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer, IAS and Force. I used to get only these five answers… The first question that arose in my mind was that the youth of the country are the future of the country, why does our education system give only five options to our youth?

Rahul Gandhi said that after the visit, I started thinking a little more about the education system. Questions arose in the mind. Why has the public sector education system ended? Why is the private sector education system so expensive?

2- ‘Education system puts pressure on children’

He alleged that India’s education system pressures, stresses, suppresses and crushes its children and this is not good for the country. I want all of us to work together to ensure that no student in this crowd, in this country… ever thinks of committing suicide. That’s what this meeting is about. This is not a political meeting. This meeting is to discuss the education system of India. What is wrong with India’s education system and what needs to be improved in it.

3- ‘Families of 22 lakh students spend equal to the education budget’

Rahul Gandhi said that every year Rs 1.32 lakh crore is collected from the families of 22 lakh students in NEET. The government puts the same amount of money in the country’s education budget, which is Rs 1.4 lakh crore. Meaning, 22 lakh people pay as much money for an examination as the Indian government spends in its education budget.

He said that Rs 3.5 lakh crore is collected from families on the five biggest examinations SSC, UPSC, JEE, RRB, NEET. The government gives the same budget to the Ministries of Education, Health, Labour, Science, Women and Child Development.

3- ‘It is not a system of education, it is a system of extortion’

Rahul Gandhi explained with an example, ‘If 1,000 children go into this system, only 12 children will get salaried employment. About 300 people will remain unemployed. He has a line of debt and drugs. About 700 people will become gig workers, porters, join MNREGA or work in the informal sector. This means that the youth of the country are being lied to because this is not a system of education but of extortion.

‘Rejection system in India’

5- Rahul Gandhi said that there are 3,000 students here in the meeting today. Out of these only 1 will become IAS. 30 students will go to IIT. 180 will be made doctors. In India, there is no ‘selection system’ but ‘rejection system’.
