There may be sudden power cut of one to two hours in Kushinagar at night.

Kushinagar. The Electricity Department has appealed to consumers to maintain patience regarding sudden power cuts at night in the district. According to the department, to maintain the balance between demand and supply of electricity in the power grid, at the level of Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited, emergency power cuts can be made at 33/11 KV power sub-stations in rural and tehsil and nagar panchayat areas for one to two hours at night or for more time if necessary.

In the press release issued by the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Distribution Board, Kushinagar, it was told that the period of sudden cut can be increased or decreased as per the requirement. Electricity is being supplied through 37 power sub-stations in the district as per the prescribed roster. Efforts are being made by the department to ensure uninterrupted supply except shutdown, breakdown and rostering.
The department said that consumers should maintain patience and restraint during sudden or emergency power cuts at night. The department is working day and night to restore power supply as per the prescribed roster. The Electricity Department has appealed to the consumers to use electricity safely and in moderation as per requirement. Also the message of saving electricity in national interest has been given.
