Akhilesh Reddy: The ICC has taken a tough stance on the match-fixing scandal, imposing an eight-year ban on American cricketer Akhilesh Reddy. Reddy has been found guilty of violating several provisions of the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code. Following this decision, he will not be able to participate in any level of recognized cricket for the next eight years.

Akhilesh Reddy was found guilty of these crimes

  • Article 2.1.1- Akhilesh Reddy was found guilty of being a party to a conspiracy or arrangement to fix, manipulate or attempt to improperly influence the result, progress or any other aspect of matches of the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
  • Article 2.1.4 – Proven guilty of inciting, persuading, instructing, assisting or attempting to incite another participant to fix or manipulate one or more matches of the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
  • Article 2.4.7- He was also found guilty of obstructing the DACO investigation by deleting data and messages from his mobile phone during the investigation.

ICC issued a statement

The International Cricket Council stated in a release that the ban on Akhilesh Reddy will be effective from November 21, 2025, when he was provisionally suspended. He will now be banned from all cricketing activities for eight years.

Such was the career

Akhilesh Reddy has played four T20 matches so far, taking just one wicket. He did not bat in any of the innings. He played for the Aspin Stallions in the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025.
