On the occasion of Independence Day, schools in Uttar Pradesh will become the biggest centers of patriotism, national unity, and public participation. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government has completed extensive preparations to transform the “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” on August 14th and the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026,” which runs until August 15th, into a mass movement through schools.
To this end, the Basic and Secondary Education Department has issued a detailed action plan and directed schools across the state to ensure the active participation of students, teachers, parents, and the local community. Through the campaign, the message of patriotism, national unity, respect for the Constitution, and pride in the tricolor will be spread to every household.
According to the instructions issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Basic Education and Secondary Education, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, the objective of the campaign is to make Independence Day a massive public campaign of public participation, patriotism and national consciousness.
Under this, the timely organization of scheduled programs will be ensured in all basic and secondary schools. Maximum student participation, community cooperation, and respect for the national flag will be given top priority in every activity. On August 14th, ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ will be observed in all schools across the state.
Students will be introduced to the historical circumstances of India’s partition, its human impact, and the importance of national unity. Special lectures, discussions, exhibitions, and awareness programs will be organized in schools to help the new generation learn from history and become sensitive to national integrity, social harmony, and democratic values.
Under the “Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan-2026,” which will run until August 15th, students, teachers, and parents will be encouraged to hoist the national flag at their homes. Schools will serve as centers for widespread publicity of the campaign and ensure local community participation, so that the message of respect for the tricolor and national pride reaches every segment of society.
Under the campaign, essay, painting, speech, debate, quiz, patriotic songs, cultural programs, morning walk, Tiranga Yatra and other creative activities will be organized in schools.
Students will also be introduced to the National Flag Code, the fundamental duties enshrined in the Constitution, and the role of citizens in nation-building, further strengthening their sense of responsibility and pride for the nation. Campaign activities will also be widely publicized through digital and social media platforms.
Schools have been instructed to share photos and videos of the events on designated platforms. Students and parents will also be encouraged to actively participate on the official digital platforms of the “Tiranga in Every Home” campaign.
Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent Charge) Sandeep Singh said that the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign is a powerful tool to inculcate patriotism, national unity, and respect for the Constitution in the new generation. Schools in Uttar Pradesh will become the largest centers for this campaign.
