Tie Rakhi to friends and trees too: On Rakshabandhan, President Draupadi Murmu gave a unique lesson to the countrymen.

New Delhi/Lucknow: President Draupadi Murmu celebrated Rakshabandhan with children and students of different schools and organizations at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Center here on Friday. The President said that the importance of Rakshabandhan is more than the brother-sister relationship.

He said the sacred thread of Rakhi can be tied by family members, friends and even on trees, symbolizing the bond of love and care. Emphasizing the importance of environmental protection, Murmu urged children to take care of trees and plants, the President's Office said in a post on 'X'. In another post, the President greeted all Indians living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
