Delhi Metro: If you are planning to travel by metro in Delhi-NCR on Diwali, then definitely know the new timetable before leaving home. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has changed the timings of metro services in view of the festival. This will affect the passengers of Noida and Ghaziabad along with Delhi.
According to DMRC, morning service on some metro lines has been started earlier than normal on the day of Diwali. Usually, the metro runs on Pink, Magenta and Gray lines at 7 am on Sundays, but on Diwali, services on these three corridors have started at 6 am.
Last metro at 10 pm on all lines
At the same time, at night the services of all metro lines will end one hour before the scheduled time. The last train from the terminal stations of all lines will depart at 10 pm instead of 11 pm. This means that no new metro will be available from the starting stations after 10 pm.
On the Red Line, the last train will run from Rithala and Shaheed Sthal, on the Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli and Millennium City Center Gurugram, while on the Blue Line, the last train will run from Dwarka Sector-21, Noida Electronic City and Vaishali at 10 pm.
Travelers advised to plan in advance
Similarly, on Green, Violet, Pink, Magenta, Gray and Airport Express lines, the last metro will depart from the terminal stations at 10 pm.
Passengers of Noida and Ghaziabad will also have to take special care. The last train from Noida Electronic City, Botanical Garden, Vaishali and Shaheed Sthal will run at 10 pm. Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journey in advance and reach the station on time to catch the last metro.
