UP Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad said – Protection Act is necessary for journalists

Varanasi17 april. Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad (Fisheries Department) has expressed concern over the problems of working journalists and said that ‘Protection Act’ is very important for them. Dr. Nishad also promised to raise the problems of journalists with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He was addressing the ‘Samvad Program’ organized at Paradkar Smriti Bhawan on Friday on the initiative of Kashi Journalist Association.

Dr. Sanjay Nishad said that the history of Kashi Journalist Association is not just the history of an organization but it is a living document of the social consciousness, struggle and voice of Sanchai of Kashi. The dedication with which it has preserved the traditions, values ​​and spirit of public interest in journalism over the years is highly commendable.

The Cabinet Minister said that in the freedom movement, Kashi’s journalism gave rise to public awareness and revolutionary consciousness through its writings. Just as professionals like doctors, lawyers and engineers never retire completely, similarly the experience of journalists is also invaluable and they should get respect and security throughout their life.

He stressed that just as there are security provisions for the executive, legislature and judiciary, similarly ‘Protection Act’ is necessary for journalists too. He clarified that journalists are a class that gives direction to the society. If the same remains insecure and continues to struggle with problems, then the security and awareness of the society will also be affected. In such a situation, it is extremely important to ensure the safety, respect and basic facilities of journalists.

Assured to raise problems of journalists with CM Yogi

Dr. Nishad listened to the problems of local journalists in detail. Taking seriously the issues of housing, pension and health services raised by the union, he assured that these will be effectively put before the Chief Minister and efforts will be made towards their solution.
