UP: Violence broke out over a dispute over giving way, car burnt; Two arrested for attempted murder and arson

Gorakhpur. A minor dispute over giving way to a vehicle turned into a violent confrontation in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. The altercation between two parties in Nagwa village of Gida police station area soon escalated into fighting and arson. It is alleged that during the dispute, a four-wheeler was first damaged and later set on fire. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos and tension in the village. Taking prompt action, the police arrested two accused in the case of attempt to murder and arson.

According to the police, the incident occurred on May 25, 2026 at around 10:15 pm. In village Nagwa of Gida police station area, two parties came face to face over the matter of giving pass to the vehicle. Initially there was an altercation between the two parties, but after some time the dispute turned violent and fighting started. Meanwhile, the accused damaged a four-wheeler and later set it on fire.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the local police reached the spot and controlled the situation. On the basis of the complaint filed by the victim, FIR No. 235/2026 was registered in Gida police station under serious sections including attempt to murder, assault, intimidation and arson.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police North, under the supervision of Area Officer Gida and under the leadership of Inspector-in-Charge Ashwani Pandey, the police team took action and arrested two accused named in the case, Kapil Singh, son of Ram Prasad Singh and Vishal Singh, son of Girjashankar Singh, resident of village Nagwa police station Gida.
The arrest team included sub-inspectors Yogesh Yadav, Vikas Mishra, Harishankar Yadav along with constables Ankit Kumar and Pintu Kumar.

Police officials say that advance legal action is being taken against both the accused. After the incident, police vigilance has been increased in the village and the situation is being monitored. This incident, which started as a minor dispute, has now become a topic of discussion in the entire area.
