In Delhi's Keshav Puram area, a dispute that started over a mere matchstick quickly turned into a violent clash. An incident of stabbing took place in Kanhaiya Nagar area after an altercation between two parties. One youth died due to knife attack in the incident, while another person was injured. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The police took action and detained three people. Police are investigating the cause of the incident and other aspects involved.

According to the police, the incident took place on September 15 and took place in Kanhaiya Nagar area of Keshav Puram police station area. According to initial information, a dispute had started between some people over matchsticks. Within no time the altercation escalated and the matter reached a scuffle. During this time, the incident of knife attack came to light. There was chaos in the area after the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter.
One dead, another injured
Bhavani (30) was seriously injured in this knife incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. His death has also been confirmed in police records. Meanwhile, Asha Ram (32) was injured in the incident. He was admitted to the hospital. When his condition improved after treatment, he was discharged from the hospital. According to family members, the dispute was not over matchsticks but over beedis. According to him, Bhavani Prasad and Asaram were present near the liquor vend in Kanhaiya Nagar. Meanwhile, some youth present there asked for beedi from Bhavani. It is alleged that Bhavani refused to give the beedi, after which a dispute started with the youth.
Police caught three people
After the incident, Keshav Puram police station started action in the case. Police have arrested three people in this case. Efforts are being made to understand the entire sequence of the incident by interrogating him. Police are also trying to find out what sparked the dispute and how the matter escalated into stabbing. Along with interrogating the accused, the police is also investigating other aspects related to the incident.
Case registered under BNS sections
Police have registered FIR number 321/2026 in the case. The case has been registered under sections 103(1) and 109(1) of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS). According to the police, the investigation of the case is going on and other facts related to the incident are also being investigated. This matter is also in discussion because in the initial information, the reason for the dispute was said to be a very trivial matter i.e. a matchbox. However, the family members have claimed that the reason for the dispute was over beedis. Based on investigation of the incident site, interrogation of the accused and other available evidence, the police are trying to find out how the dispute turned violent and what were the events leading to Bhavani's death.
