US-Iran Deal: Big agreement between America and Iran, war in Lebanon will stop, Marco Rubio reached Gulf countries

A new agreement has been reached between America and Iran, which has raised hopes for peace in the entire Middle East. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is now on a tour of Gulf countries to assure security to the allies there. Under this agreement, there has been talk of ceasefire and opening of trade routes in Lebanon.

What is the agreement between America and Iran

On 17 June 2026, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between France and Iran. According to this deal, a 60-day ceasefire will be implemented and the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened. To decide the specifics of this agreement, a high-level meeting named ‘Lake Lucerne Summit’ started in Switzerland on 21 June.

After the agreement, America temporarily lifted the oil sanctions imposed on Iran on June 22. This exemption will last till August 21, allowing Iran to produce and sell its oil. Along with this, it has been decided to form separate working groups to work on nuclear issues and sanctions.

Visit to Gulf countries and security concerns

On June 23, Secretary of State Marco Rubio began a trip to the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain. The purpose of this visit is to assure the Gulf countries that America is committed to their security. Some countries feared that this agreement might make Iran more powerful, to overcome which this conversation is being held.

Statements and conditions of big leaders

  • Vice President JD Vance: He said Iran has allowed IAEA inspectors to return. Also, with Qatar’s help, the process of unlocking Iran’s frozen assets will begin, which will be used primarily to purchase American agricultural goods.
  • President Donald Trump: Trump has warned Iran that its proxy in Lebanon (Hezbollah) should immediately stop its activities, otherwise military action will have to be taken. He also claimed that Iran has agreed to test for nuclear weapons, although Iran has denied this.
  • Iranian officials: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are involved in these talks. Iran says that the Strait of Hormuz will be managed by Iran in accordance with international law.

Proxy and impact on Lebanon

This agreement talks about ceasefire in Lebanon, which can curb the activities of Hezbollah. It is also written in the MOU that America and Israel will not start any new war or military operation against Iran or its proxy countries in the future nor will they threaten to use force.
