Famous social worker and innovator Sonam Wangchuk is now in Ladakh. Sonam Wangchuk, who went on a fast unto death at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, has talked about starting a 'second war of independence' just before the country's Independence Day. He says that even though the Education Minister has resigned there has been no change. Addressing the youth of the country, he said that now is the turn to bring forward such leaders who can truly show the path to the country. He also said that there is a need for a peaceful revolution and huge change in India.
Sonam Wangchuk, who returned to Ladakh after the hunger strike at Jantar Mantar, has raised questions on all parties by releasing a video. He says that the more he thinks, the more disappointed he becomes. Now he is appealing to the youth of the country to work towards choosing the right leaders. He has talked about starting an initiative to bring together the intellectuals of the country and listen to their suggestions.

Sonam Wangchuk has released a video saying, 'August 15 is coming and I need your help. For the past few days I have been ill and sitting in bed thinking about my country and its future. The more I thought, the more disappointed I became. Neighboring countries which were behind or at par with us 50 years ago have today moved miles ahead of us. If we do not talk about big countries, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and even Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are ahead of us in terms of per capita income. If this continues, in 2047 we will not be a developed country, we will not be able to compete in the world market.
He further said, 'I want to congratulate you that you wanted change and protested in the last two months and change also happened. The Education Minister resigned but the next Education Minister who came also does not seem to be doing any miracle. As long as education remains backward, the future of the country will also remain backward. Similarly, if one party raised its voice against the government in Delhi and it suppressed it brutally, then the governments of other parties in other states also did the same. It's not about party. In 2012-13, we transformed a government into a movement against corruption, but today after 12-13 years, corruption has changed its form.
What does Sonam Wangchuk want?
Sonam Wangchuk has called for a different kind of protest, saying, 'A huge change is needed. There needs to be a peaceful revolution so that we can put forward the right leaders because the biggest shortcoming has been in choosing our leadership. Unless the leader is right, the whole country will move on the wrong path. Despite these circumstances, there are many leaders who follow the right path. I salute such leaders. But do you know that if we take our Parliament only, almost half of the MPs have cases and allegations of crimes. One third have serious allegations of murder, rape and kidnapping. In such a situation, how can the country become developed?
Raising question marks on every party, Sonam Wangchuk has said, 'I am not talking about any particular party, side or opposition. I am talking about the country. There is a need for a big change and a peaceful revolution in the country so that in the coming times, those leaders who can truly show the path to the country can go ahead in the elections. Therefore, I want to bring the intellectuals of our country on one platform and seek advice and suggestions from them. Sitting here in Ladakh, I do not know who they are and where they are.
